Navy Blue was released in December of 2013 and restocked in September of 2014. This is a deep, dark Prussian blue with dark veining. The more that you heat Navy Blue, the darker it can go. This is a great color to experiment with! Our tester used high heat and you can see that it has clouds of darker blue/black where the torch was at its hottest on the bead. This color is truly a new addition to the soft glass palette!
I made some ridged donuts that went into the kiln blue, but came out a matte gunmetal metallic that had a cool industrial look. A brief etch will reveal the streaky blue original color again! I'm really curious to try this with some steampunk stamping tools to make beads that look like they have rivet/screw/cog wheel accents. If you want beads that stay the original blue color, I thought it was very pretty encased with a pale light blue or clear. Giving it 4 of 5 stars since it takes some extra steps to make it "sing" for you
